•  Palais Longchamp (25 Miles) - Endowed with towering columns and flowing water, the monument itself is only the center of the complex, which includes The Musée des Beaux-Arts,The Musée de l'Histoire Naturelle, a park, and an observatory.
•  Château d'If (25 Miles) - Guards the city from its golden rock perch outside the harbour. Nearby the Ile Frioul quarantined suspected plague infectees, it's now a public monument. Fort St-Jean's original tower guarded a giant chain that closed off the harbor in times of trouble.
•  Basilique de Notre Dame de la Garde (25 Miles) - A clear, stunning view of the city, surrounding mountains and stone-studded bay. Towering nearly 230m above the city, the church's statue of Madonna bearing the infant Christ, is known as 'la bonne mère,' is regarded by many as the symbol of Marseille.
•  Le Vieux Port (26 Miles) - The Old Port is a picturesque destination pleasant to wander around. It welcomes visitors on with its daily morning fish market, its numerous restaurants and the ferry boat which crosses the harbour from the Quai d'Honneur to the Place aux Huiles.
