• Pessac Zoo (1 Mile) - This five-acres park is home to some 400 animals belonging to 110 different species. Animals from Africa and Asia, including lions and giraffes, are there to be discovered, as well as a species of wolf with a mane. • Bordelais Park of Bordeaux (3 Miles) - The Park is one of the quietest places of the city, extremely appreciable when one wishes to escape from the noise and agitation while remaining in the town centre. • Laurenzanne Greenhouse, Gradignan (5 Miles) - It is a beautiful example of the metal architecture of the end of 19 th century. Probably of the school of Gustave Eiffel. • Beaux Arts Museum, Bordeaux (6 Miles) - One can admire superb Italian paintings (Titien, Giordano, Véronèse, Magnasco), some immense formats of the French school (Restout and Van Loo), two splendid Rubens and ones of the Dutch school (Ruysdael, Verbeck, Terbrugghen, Franz Hals).
