• The Mont Ventoux (10 Miles) - Mont Ventoux peaks at 1912 m altitude, and stands guard over Provence. Ranked as UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Mont Ventoux, known as the 'Giant of Provence', is home to outstanding flora and fauna. • Pont St-Bénézet (11 Miles) - Bénézet, a shepherd, was commanded by angels to build a bridge, he finished it in 1185. Today, the bridge stops partway across the river. Perched precariously on the second arch is the St-Nicolas Chapel, dedicated to the patron saint of mariners. • Palais Des Papes (13 Miles) - This palace, launches gargoyles out over the city and the Rhône. Begun in 1335 and finished twenty years later, the palace is divided into 2 sections with the contrasting styles of their builders. The giant rooms and their frescoed walls are spectacular. • La Fondation Angladon-Dubrujeaud (14 Miles) - Opened in 1995, this contains the art collection of Jacques Doucet. Today you can wander through Doucet's former abode, which is also filled with rare antiques and art objects.
