• Castle of Annecy Museum (5 Miles) - This grey-stone monument dominates the resort. In this castle the comtes de Genève took refuge from their enemies in the 13th century. The château contains a museum of artifacts that include Alpine furniture, religious art, oil paintings and modern works. • Château de Montrottier (6 Miles) - A once-feudal citadel partially protected by the rugged geology, its tower offers a panoramic view of Mont Blanc. Inside, a small museum showcases pottery, Asian costumes, armor, tapestries, and antiques, and bronze bas-reliefs from the 16th century. • Annecy Lake (6 Miles) - Visit the lake nearby for many water sports and stunning views. There are also boat tours that you can take. • Menthon Castle (15 Miles) - Inhabited since the 12th century and birthplace of St Bernard, the fortress was extensively renovated in the last century in the romantic Gothic-revival style and possesses a fine collection of period furniture and views across the lake back to Annecy.
