From Aix city centre: - Take Boulevard du Président Wilson towards Chambéry. - Carry onto Avenue du Golf. - Then turn in front of Chemin des Burnet.

• The Lake's House, aquarium (5 Miles) - Designed to teach the public about the protection and management of a natural aquatic environment, the maison du Lac has the largest freshwater aquarium in France. • Faure Museum (10 Miles) - Docteur Faure bequeathed his collection of fine art to Aix-les-Bains, it has been shown in 'Les Chimères' since 1949. It is the richest collection from the Impressionist period to be seen in a provincial gallery today. • Hautecombe Abbey (16 Miles) - The lavish result of eight centuries of necropolistic excess. One masterpiece is a marble statue of Marie Christine de Bourbon, the sculpture, was eight years in the making. A marble pietà, is given pride of place in the chapel. • National Thermal Station of Aix-les-Bains (17 Miles) - The New Baths were expanded in 1972. Visit the thermal caves, In the center of the spa are two Roman remains. See the mosaic-covered compartments that served as changing booths for members of the royal families of Europe. Or just bask in the warm waters.
